Starting a path to transform situations of extreme poverty and cultural oppression, due to local traditions and customs that relegate women to suffer humiliating violence and discrimination and to pursue and achieve their own economic and financial autonomy.
The women involved number about 1,000 and live in the 15 villages surrounding Rajghat and Varanasi.
Our contribution
Work empowerment to develop economic and labour livelihoods, provide vocational training and start productive and social enterprise activities.
Economic empowerment through financial literacy, running micro-credit and savings groups, granting micro-credits.
Social and health empowerment: women aware of their rights and the basics of health and hygiene will improve their quality of life and their psycho-social and health well-being. The effect will also affect their families.
